Everything we do at Linden Community Church stems from our desire to put God on display. It’s why the Bible is preached verse by verse, why we sing songs that reflect the doctrines found in the Scriptures, and why we seek to build each other up to a greater love for Jesus Christ
We are Reformed in our theology and therefore embrace a view of the teaching of Scripture that places God at the center of all things, and places emphasis on the activity of God and the glory of God in saving sinners.
Why are we called Linden Community Church?
Linden is the location where our congregation gathers each Lord’s Day. Linden is a wonderful small village in Fauquier and Warren Counties in the Commonwealth of Virginia. It sits at the top of Manassas Gap in the Blue Ridge Mountains making it a gateway into the Shenandoah Valley.
Community is likewise significant. It suggests both genuine fellowship within our church family and an open door to those around us. As members of one body, we seek to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3). As a light in our community, we’re a place of peace for those in chaos, a place of forgiveness for the guilty, and a place of hope for the hopeless.
Church, however, is paramount because of its absolute uniqueness. While “Linden” and “Community” were our choices in defining who we are, “Church” was mandated by God – as revealed in His Word. It is His designation for the assembly of people called by His name. As such, our course has been charted by God; our destiny has been planned by God; our members have been chosen by God; our purposes have been defined by God.
